Gonna get myself an education

Because I feel like I don't got no brain no more :), I have decided to enroll myself in Lady DI's Grammar School for Stay at Home Moms (translation: buying a couple of old text books at the D.I. and giving myself assignments from them). This semester-algebra, american history, and of course, brushing up on my portuguese. I finally decided that an education that comes from Cash Cab or those gigantic cardboard books just isn't going to cut it anymore. Wish me luck...here's to a 4.0 grade point average!

Ha, you are so cute! I'm impressed that you are doing home-school. I can't believe you only have 62 more days to go til your due date--what the!? That went fast for me :) Only a couple more months, good luck!

That's such a great idea! I feel like my brain is mush right now. You're a fan of Cash Cab? We watch it every night! That's what's stimulating my brain nowadays.

That's a great idea! Maybe I should teach myself also. I think it would be so much fun to learn Portuguese; I have a Portuguese Book of Mormon, maybe I'll try reading it. :)

You're funny, Elise. And smart too, what a good idea! Being a stay at home mom is a great thing, but at times you do find yourself wondering why exactly you went to school for all those years.... Good luck being intellectually stimulated!

You crack me up! Well, if I was prego with no wheels, I would do the same thing! It was good to see you last week. It was great to sit and eat and chat...there is nothing out there better than that! Love you lots!

Holy bananas! My self esteem just plummeted. I'd never think of such a thing to do. :) My education comes mostly from watching Law and Order and CSI, conning myself into thinking I'd make a good detective. Good for you!

You crack me up! I know that if I need a little somethin to cheer me up I can always tune into the Fraziers blog! We made a quick last minute trip to Utah. We were seriously going to call and see if we could quickly see you, but we just ran out of time. We were talking about how much we miss you guy-we need to play sometime! Wanna a Cali getaway? I'm sure 11 hours is really what you want right now!

Ummm if you want you can come and do Hunter's math homework with him (you would be Sunday school teacher of the year), his math is starting to make me feel dumb...and he is only in 3rd grade! Good luck in home school, I bet you will be head of the class, unless Max picks up on Portuguese!

I'm glad you put this post up! I keep saying in the back of my mind "I need to order books from half.com about _____ " (fill in the blank about what I want to learn--child development comes up the most). Well now I'm going to email myself so I remember to do some searching tomorrow. Good luck with your studies!

i think that's awesome! way to be a go-getter. you know, the other option is that you could just move to boston and brush up on your portuguese by speaking it every single day... and the added benefit to this would be that you got to eat COMIDA GOSTOSA whenever you wanted ;) (sorry for rubbing it in!)

Hurray! I know the need. I recently started a book club and I've been working on learning some Spanish- one of my favorite methods of language study has been reading my English and Spanish copies of Harry Potter side by side :)

Lou, you rock. I've been feeling the same way lately... and I'm not even prego. I just bought a book today about all the great women in our American history. Granted it's for little kids, but I thought two of us could benefit from the purchase. :)
